Venues
Dobó Bastion
This is a multi-functional event hall. Along one side, there is a natural limestone wall, a unique architectural feature of this space within the bastion. A kitchen, separate cloakroom and bathroom connected to the hall ensure a comfortable stay for the guests. The hall’s maximum capacity is 100 persons.
Dobó Bastion Terrace
The terrace provides a breathtaking view of Eger city centre, augmented by the relative narrowness of the parapet wall, with a view down to the bottom of the castle wall. The terrace faces west, an ideal outdoor venue for a beautiful summer evening wedding. Its capacity is 100 persons.
Szép Bastion
The highest point of Eger Castle, the bastion, offers an unparalleled vista of the castle, city and the Bükk mountains. Also known as Calvary Hill, it was initially a cavalier (cannon emplacement). Its maximum capacity is 120 persons.
Turkish Garden
This bastion projecting out to the right of the main castle gate of the castle is a polygonal structure. The name itself is a reference to the bastion builders. This shaded green retreat with its terraces is ideal for couples who want to enjoy a quiet, intimate ceremony.
Ruin Garden
Surrounded by the hallowed walls of this centuries-old former cathedral, saying YES carries a particular power. Once the second largest cathedral in Europe, Hungarian nobility held their wedding ceremonies here until the 16th century. If you choose this venue, you and your couple can be one of them!
Zárkándy Bastion
The Zárkándy Bastion is the latest attraction at Eger Castle. It offers a magnificent view of the city and represents a very special venue for a wedding ceremony. For more than a century, this limb, torn from the body of the castle, is healed and has regained its strength. Just like the marriages performed here...
Blacksmith-Locksmith Bastion
The Blacksmith-Locksmith bastion is the best choice if you want a small ceremony. The intimate bastion offers a wonderful view of the city centre. And because of its enclosed structure, couples don't have to worry about weather conditions ruining the ceremony.
Gárdonyi Garden Pavilion
The home of Géza Gárdonyi, the author of the highly successful novel The Stars of Eger, is located in a beautiful wooded garden, next to Eger Castle. If you are looking for a wedding in gladed surroundings, the wooden pavilion in the garden is the perfect venue for small ceremonies.
