RESTORATION WORKSHOP
The Restoration Workshop lies hidden in the outskirts of the town. This 3,728 m2 warehouse is divided into 55 store-rooms and includes the workshops and photo studios. Our restorers work meticulously behind the scenes, hidden from the visitors, but this is one of the essential activities of our museum.
The meticulous work of the restorers is done behind the scenes, hidden from the visitors, but it is one of the most important activities of the museum.
Their task and job is to preserve the condition of the artworks and present them in an aesthetic fashion to the delight of exhibition visitors.
Various works of art from the archaeological, historical, ethnographic, fine arts, applied arts and literary history collections are cleaned, conserved and restored by professional restorers specialised in various materials, such as metal, ceramic, china, glass, textile and wood.
